# Outbox vs Display.dev: gated publishing vs per-person client links

> Display.dev gates agent output behind company SSO for internal teams. Outbox sends it to outside people with a link each, open alerts and expiry.

Display.dev and Outbox both give your agents a URL for every page they make. Display.dev is built for publishing inside a company: pages sit behind Google or Microsoft sign-in, outside guests verify with an emailed code, and IT gets SSO and audit logs. Outbox is built for sending work to people outside: a link per recipient, an email when they open it, expiry and revocation on every plan.

## When Display.dev is the better fit

- Most of what your agents publish is for colleagues, and you want it behind your company's Google or Microsoft sign-in.
- IT needs SSO and audit logs, or SAML and a custom domain on Enterprise.
- You want external reviewers to prove their email address with a one-time code before they see a page.
- You have more than 10 publishers and want one flat price with no cap.

## When Outbox is the better fit

- The work goes to clients, prospects or investors, and you want to know who opened it and when.
- You want open alerts and link expiry, which we didn't find in Display.dev's docs.
- You want named read receipts on the free plan.
- You want agents to follow up: ask "who hasn't opened the proposal?" and get an answer.
