# Share AI-built client reports and proposals as private, tracked links

> Your agent writes the monthly report or the proposal. Outbox gives each client contact a private link, tells you when they open it and keeps every version at one URL.

Agents now draft the monthly client report, the proposal and the statement of work in minutes, often as HTML that looks better than any PDF. The slow part is what happens next: exporting, attaching, chasing "did you see it?" and re-sending v3. Outbox is the step between your agent and your client.

## The usual workflow, and where it breaks

- Export to PDF and attach: the interactive tables and charts are gone, and every fix means a new attachment.
- Paste a public artifact link: anyone it gets forwarded to can open it, forever, and you never know if the client looked.
- Drop it in a shared drive: one more login for the client, and no idea which version they read.

## The Outbox workflow

1. Give the agent a key scoped to the client's folder, for example `clients/acme`. It can't publish anywhere else.
2. The agent publishes the report to `clients/acme/2026-10-report`. It starts private: only you can see it.
3. Create one [link per stakeholder](https://out-box.dev/en/per-recipient-links), each with their name, an expiry and, if needed, a passphrase.
4. You get an email when each person opens their link, and a reminder if someone hasn't opened it after 48 hours.
5. Feedback comes back as comments anchored to the text; the agent applies the ones you accept and republishes to the same slug.
6. The client keeps the same link and always sees the latest version. You keep the history, with a diff between versions.

Example prompt:

```
Write the October performance report for Acme from ./data/acme-october.csv as a single
self-contained HTML page. Publish it to my Outbox as clients/acme/2026-10-report, then
create links for "Laura · Acme" and "Tom · Acme", valid for 30 days.
```

## For sales teams: proposals that tell you when to follow up

A proposal usually goes to more than one person. With a link per person you see that the champion opened it twice yesterday and the CFO hasn't opened it yet, which tells you who to call and when. Ask your agent "who hasn't opened the Acme proposal?" and it lists the unopened links.

Because the page is live, pricing changes or a new section don't need a new email: republish, and every recipient sees the update at the link they already have. If a deal goes cold, revoke the links and the proposal stops being readable outside your company.

## Recurring reports on a fixed URL

For weekly status updates, the agent can keep a daily page and append a dated block each time instead of creating a new page. The client bookmarks one URL; earlier updates stay on the page and in the history.

## For teams

The Team plan gives the company one shared workspace with company keys for shared agents, and each member can create named links for the company's pages. It costs $49/month flat per company, up to 10 publishers (early access: request it from the pricing page), with unlimited readers. Individual plans start free; Pro is $5/month. See [pricing](https://out-box.dev/pricing).

## Frequently asked questions

### Will the client see an old version after I update the report?

No. Links point to the page, not to a version, so they always show the latest publish. Earlier versions stay in your history.

### What if the client forwards the link?

Opens through that link are still recorded under the original recipient's name. If it shouldn't be shared, revoke it and send a new one; nobody else's link is affected.

### Can I keep one client's reports away from another's?

Yes. Use one folder per client and one folder-scoped key per agent, so a report for one account can't land in another's.

### What if the report accidentally includes an API key or password?

Outbox scans what you publish for credentials and the response warns you (type and line, never the value). The agent can also ask Outbox to reject the publish when that happens.
