Publish Claude artifacts to private links you control (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
You built something good in a Claude chat: a proposal, a dashboard, a one-pager. Claude can share it as a public link, but anyone with that link can open it and you won't know who did. Connect Outbox and Claude publishes it as a private page you share person by person.
Set it up in claude.ai or Claude Desktop
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Outbox and paste the server URL below.
- Click Connect. A browser window asks you to sign in to Outbox (or create an account) and approve the permissions.
- In any chat, enable the Outbox connector from the tools menu.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to allow custom connectors first. Each connection creates an agent key called "Claude connector" in Outbox, so you can see and revoke it in Settings → Keys.
Prompts that work
- "Publish this artifact to my Outbox as clients/acme/proposal."
- "Read clients/acme/proposal from my Outbox, apply the client's comments and republish it."
- "Did anyone open the Q3 one-pager?"
- "List what I published this week."
Then, from Library → What I share in Outbox, create a link with a passphrase and an expiry, or ask an agent with sharing enabled to create a named link per recipient.
Claude's public link vs an Outbox link
| Claude public artifact link | Outbox share link | |
|---|---|---|
| Passphrase | No | Optional, per link |
| Expiry | No | 1 to 365 days, or never (default 7) |
| Who opened it | No | Per link, by name, with an email alert |
| Revoke one person | No | Yes, other links keep working |
| Update after sending | Republish in Claude | Republish to the same slug; the link shows the new version |
Claude's own sharing details are in Outbox vs Claude Artifacts, with sources.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on the Claude mobile app?
Connectors you add on the web are tied to your Claude account, so the Outbox connector is available wherever you use Claude with that account.
Does the artifact keep running scripts and storage?
Outbox serves your HTML in a sandboxed page. Artifacts that depend on Claude's runtime storage or on calling Claude from the page won't have those features on Outbox.
