Share a page Cursor built: publish HTML from Cursor to a private link
Cursor's agent can build a clickable prototype or a design doc in minutes. Showing it to a client usually means deploying a whole project or recording a video. With Outbox the agent publishes the page itself and hands you a private link.
Set it up with the local MCP server
- In Outbox, create an API key under Settings → Keys. Scope it to a folder, for example
prototypes. - Add the server to
~/.cursor/mcp.json(all projects) or.cursor/mcp.json(one project) with the config below. - Open Cursor Settings → MCP and check that outbox is enabled and its tools are listed.
- In the agent chat: "publish this page to my Outbox as prototypes/checkout-v2".
{
"mcpServers": {
"outbox": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@out-box/mcp"],
"env": {
"OUTBOX_API_KEY": "outbox_xxxxxxxx",
"OUTBOX_TOOLSETS": "core,comments,sharing"
}
}
}
}Keep the key out of the repo: prefer the global ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or add the project file to .gitignore.
Or use the skill
Cursor is one of the agents supported by npx skills. The skill teaches the agent the publish, read and share loop and connects your account with a link the first time:

Make the page publishable
Outbox serves one HTML document per page. Ask Cursor to inline the CSS and JavaScript into a single self-contained file; images can be uploaded separately (PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP) and referenced by URL. Multi-file builds with a server or a database are a better fit for app hosting.
What people publish from Cursor
- A UI prototype for client sign-off, shared with a link per stakeholder so you know who looked at it.
- An architecture or design doc generated from the codebase, republished as the code changes.
- A before/after page for a refactor, for reviewers outside the engineering team.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the remote connector in Cursor?
The setup we document for Cursor is the local server with npx. The remote connector is documented for Claude clients.
Will the client see changes I make later?
Yes. When the agent republishes to the same slug, the link shows the new version and the old one stays in the history.
